I love waking up in the morning with the windows of my house all open, listening to the birds sing in the fresh morning mountain air. I love the evenings when the heat of the day begins to dissipate bringing in the same cool air. I love sitting on my very small deck and drinking something warm. I love summer thunderstorms and even more so falling asleep to the sound of rain outside my window. I love to listen to the creek gurgling in the front of our house.
I didn’t want to come back to work today – I have to start making friends here. The very thought makes me groan. I’ve had a few new people that I’ve met recently ask “what do you like to do?” I’m not a “hardcore enthusiast” that’s for sure- I like to hike, I run. I don’t take myself too seriously. After all this is my first flipping year here and by all means necessary I’m going to chill and enjoy it. By the end of the year I will be getting involved on a local level. It’s amazing and overwhelming at the same time the sheer volume of things to do here. I will continue to sit on my front deck in the crisp morning air and breathe…… for now………..
